Class: Learn to Flirt (SW Pdx)

Sunday, March 14,  2:00 -4:00 PM

Fee: $30

Learn the two kinds of flirting. Flirting for fun is both harmless, enjoyable, and a safe way to meet people. Flirting also builds confidence to help you meet someone. The second type is flirting is with intent.

Flirting is a simple form of communication that “breaks the ice” and starts a conversation with a stranger. It’s actually fun once you become comfortable and learn how to. Flirting is fun, it signals that we’re interested in someone and it can initiate relationships. You need to be present and give someone your full attention when flirting. It is a powerful tool when used correctly.

This class will teach you to flirt naturally. If you are at a party or sitting across the table from someone who is interested in you, this class will teach you to express your interest in them by flirting.

Optional: Attendees will be paired off to “role play” with 1 other person.

Attend a party to meet quality singles without having to invest long hours with online dating.  Several dates and exclusive couples have formed from previous Minglers.

6:00-6:30 – Arrive before the event starts

6:30 Event begins – with a Group introduction –  Each attendee has 30-40 seconds to share 1 or 2 thing that makes them unique. Include some hobbies, favorite trip, volunteer work you do, be open & share if you’re a widow or married for 25 years and are learning to date again.

Most Popular and liked activity is in groups of 6. (3 men & 3 women), this creates a setting that allows you to be more at ease and communicate more from the heart…  AND LAUGH!   Jon has many rooms in his house to accommodate this game. Mingler Description & Testimonial:

The purpose of the event is to meet others, practice your introductions to connect with others, and become aware of better ways to present your 40-second commercial. This is a skill you need to sharpen and be able to articulate this in any situation when you meet a single person you are interested in getting to know.  Learn how you describe yourself to others.

There’s plenty of free time to socialize in between activities.

Singles need to be effective with their intro when meeting others of the opposite sex.  . ** Some attendees are so effective at the above it is easier to schedule a date from the Mingler if your intro is good! **If you are not good at articulating interesting things about yourself within 40 seconds, learn this prior to Mingler by scheduling a coaching session with Donna.  This is an important skill to sharpen!

If this is out of your comfort zone, you are not alone! Let Donna know in advance if this is “out of your comfort zone” and she will help put you at ease, offer some suggestions, and introduce you to others.  You need to push yourself and get out to events to meet others!  Invite a coworker or friend.

Movie Night for Singles (NE 28th)

Event: Watch Louis Hay’s Movie: How to Heal Your Life

Cost: $10

Where:  Jon’s house in NE Portland (28th & Tillamook)

Time:  Arrive by 6:15, movie starts at 6:30 pm

Instead of watching the 90-minute movie, we will watch the interviews of the well known speakers featured in the movie.  Jon has a large screen TV, with large picture windows overlooking his great yard.

The interviews are profound, inspiring, and will give you new information to help you move forward to meet and keep a partner.  Most importantly how to be happy while dealing with life challenges.  As a dating coach this movie is a great tool for singles.

Also addresses health issues and how to overcome them in an non-conventional way.  Some of the speakers healed themselves of serious diseases such as cancer.

15 -25 minute Interviews by:

Louise Hay, Esther Hicks, Mona Schultz, Wayne Dyer.  Discussion to follow afterwards for those interested in sharing awakening ah ah’s.  Some of my previous movie nights have included a great discussion.  This is a thought provoking and can enhance the quality of your life and health.  The power of your thoughts and “mental dialogue” will be discussed in the interviews.

What to bring: a Small appetizer, dessert, fruit or veggies.  Ex: cheese & crackers, chocolate, or (finger foods that don’t require forks)

Discover the value of meditation and see how peaceful and present you will become.  Learning to meditate can actually help you in your search for a mate!  How? Your intuition and your alert button will be turned on when you learn to quiet the mind.  This can result in a quicker decision when meeting someone and deciding if you want to date the person.

Learn two basic ways to meditate.  Meditation helps control the “monkey mind” and keeps you focused and centered.  Meditation can help improve your memory and helps to sleep more restfully. Meditation and deep breathing is now recognized by the medical field as beneficial to good health and can help the healing process if you have an illness.

Class begins with a 6-minute guided meditation.  Followed by techniques for calming the mind and deep breathing exercises.  Next Donna will lead a 20-minute guided meditation with some silent 1-minute pauses.  Learn tips to stop the mind chatter and to empty the mind so you can sit still.   Class will end with a 10-minute silent meditation at the end of class.

Learn various breathing techniques.  Some benefits of proper breathing:

* Deep breathing improves your health and gives you more energy.?* Learn  ways to help re-energize you when you are feeling tired at work or in a meeting.?* Learn to reduce stress in your life through deep breathing.

You will feel so relaxed and energized after class.
